Speaker Fire Hoods
Speakers that are installed in ceilings with habitable rooms above should be fitted with speaker fire hoods to maintain fire resistance and comply with UK building regulations.
Fire hoods also prevent insulation and debris falling onto the back of the speaker which could affect performance, and in some cases also provide an acoustic barrier to reduce sound transmission to adjacent rooms.
